The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued yellow and orange alerts for Tripura from July 30 to August 1, predicting heavy to very heavy rainfall over the state in the coming days. In a press statement, IMD Agartala detailed the weather conditions leading to the alerts. The monsoon trough at mean sea level now passes through Jaisalmer, Ajmer, Gwalior, Churk, Balasore, and extends east-southeastward to the northeast Bay of Bengal, reaching up to 1.5 km above mean sea level.
