Holiday for govt/non-govt offices in Assam

Ajmal to seek Supreme Court permission for reopening of madrassas in Assam

The Assam Government has banned madrassas and turned into general schools in Assam. AIUDF chief Badruddin Ajmal has promised to go against the decision of the government. During an election campaign he said that he will move to the Supreme Court to grant reopening of the closed madrassas in Assam. Around 1,281 madrassas were converted to schools. He said, "UP government announced the closure of madrasas and later, the Supreme Court condemned them. With this reference, we will go to the Supreme Court and get the order from there."

Two men enlightens Assam by receiving ‘Padma Shri’ award

An old women named Ramati Baishya who is 105 years old was honoured by the authorities of central Assam’s Kamrup district on April 14, which is first day of Assamese year and Rogali Bihu of Assam. Crude oil leakage reported at Tinsukia dist

Oil India Private Limited at Dighaltarang Tea Estate in the Tinsukia District of Assam has recently reported leakage in the x-mass tree assembly on top of a crude oil well. According to the sources, immediate actions were taken as soon as the situation took place at site. As a precautionary measure, the fire service was mobilized and kept on standby. Contractual teachers will not be granted permanent posts, Assam

The Assam Government has recently spoke on plans to transit contractual teachers into permanent status within the recruited schools. According to the reports, about 4,500 contractual teachers are working in various high schools and have the same pay scale as regular employees.
