Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has launched a tree plantation drive, under which 25 crore saplings will be planted across the state.
The chief minister launched the drive by planting saplings of peepal, banyan and pakd (harishankari) in Manikpur development block of Chitrakoot district and said that 35 crore saplings would be planted in the state this year.
The state ministers participated in the campaign by planting saplings in different districts.
Many more ministers were supposed to receive development programs.
As per the official statement, the Chief Minister said while addressing the function at Chitrakootthat that the state government under the leadership and guidance of the Prime Minister is committed to the overall development of the entire Bundelkhand region including Chitrakoot.
The Chief Minister also said that 35 crore saplings will be planted in the state this year, of which 25 crore saplings were planted on Tuesday.
