A woman has been arrested in Assam’s Dhubri district for alleged links with the banned Bangladeshi organization Ansarul Islam.
Bilasipara Sub-Divisional Police Officer Birinchi Bora said Jahura Khatun, whose husband Abu Tallah is also wanted for her alleged links with the outfit. He was trying to protect people associated with Ansarul Islam, Bora said.
“Two mobile phones were seized from him, one of which was burnt. We are trying to recover data from burnt phone. So far, we have collected enough evidence from his interrogation and other phones that he was in contact with members of the organization,” Bora said.
