‘With a snake for 104 hours. Brave boy’: Chhattisgarh CM praises 11-year-old Child

As Chhattisgarh breathed a sigh of relief after rescuing an 11-year-old from a borewell after more than 100 hours, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel – who is tracking updates due on Friday – tweeted late on Tuesday praising the boy. Rahul Sahu was once trapped with a snake in a borewell for 104 hours, Baghel said, as he tweeted an affectionate note in Hindi: “Hamara bachcha bahadur hai (our son is brave)”.

“A snake and a frog were his companions for 104 hours. Today Chhattisgarh Sarvam is celebrating… We all wish him to come back soon from his medical institution. Congratulations and thanks once again to all parties involved in this operation,” Baghel tweeted along with a video in which he was briefed.

In another post, as the boy was brought out, he wrote: “Understandably, the enterprise was once huge. But our team remains calm in the face of adversity. If the route is difficult, our willpower is strong. With the help and dedicated efforts of the rescue team, Rahul Sahu is introduced. We hope and pray that he recovers soon.”

The 11-year-old boy fell into the borewell while playing near his home on Friday. A 70-feet hole parallel to the borewell was dug on Friday evening, while a 15-feet tunnel was once made to join the borewell.

The Chief Minister was monitoring the updates through video calls. Robot operator Mahesh Ahir came to Amreli, Gujarat for the operation.

After the rescue, he was taken to the hospital once.
