West Bengal: 2 arrested for hiring killer to murder brother over property dispute

Two persons were arrested in West Bengal’s Hooghly district on Saturday for hiring a hitman to kill a brother over a property dispute. The murderer strangled the brother and threw the body in the pond. The police recovered the useless body.

A police announcement issued through the Srirampur police station said, “The Srirampur police station received a complaint filed on May 12 by Utpal Das that his brother Gautam Das was scheduled at a pond in Bhattacharya Garden. On receiving the information, the police went to the spot and recovered his body. He was sent to Srirampur Walsh (SD) Health Center where he was declared brought dead by the health doctor on duty.”

Uppal Das alleged that Ujjal Das and Krishna Sarkar killed his brother over a property dispute.

A case under Section 302 (punishment for murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered against the two accused. Then the police arrested two people on Saturday. They have confessed to their crime while the police are looking for a third accused whom they hired for the murder.
