Vice President delivers address at Mizoram University’s 20th Convocation

Vice President CP Radhakrishnan addressed the 20th Convocation of Mizoram University in Aizawl, congratulating graduating students and encouraging them to contribute to the vision of a “Viksit Bharat” by 2047. He emphasized the significant transformation of the Northeast over the past decade under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, highlighting that the region has become central to India’s development narrative. Radhakrishnan noted enhanced connectivity, including the new Bairabi–Sairang railway line, which has shifted the region’s identity to one of opportunity rather than isolation. The event was attended by various dignitaries, including Mizoram’s Governor General Vijay Kumar Singh, Chief Minister Lalduhoma, and Vice Chancellor Professor Dibakar Chandra Deka. Upon his arrival in Mizoram, Radhakrishnan received a ceremonial welcome, and a cultural program featuring the performance of ‘Bharat Ki Beti’ by local talent Esther Lalduhawmi was hosted in his honor.
