Vice President Addresses Tripura Varsity Convocation, Calls for Research and Innovation for National Development

Vice President of India C.P. Radhakrishnan addressed the 14th convocation of Tripura University in Agartala, emphasizing the importance of research that leads to innovation for national development. He urged students to make the most of their educational opportunities and highlighted the historic progress India is making towards becoming a ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047. Radhakrishnan called on students to stay away from drugs and to support peers in doing the same, stressing that technology should be harnessed positively. He noted that success is the result of perseverance and patience, while also acknowledging the significant developments in the northeastern region under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, particularly in rail and air connectivity.

The Vice President commended Tripura University as a vibrant center for teaching and research innovation. During the ceremony, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha praised the university for its academic contributions, which attract students from across India and beyond, highlighting its multicultural environment. He reiterated the state government’s commitment to establishing more universities in Tripura and enhancing higher education, connecting it to employment opportunities. The Chief Minister underscored the transformative role of Tripura University in intellectual and human resource development, referring to it as an intellectual lighthouse of the state. He also acknowledged the significance of International Women’s Day, extending greetings to women on this occasion. Tripura Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu stressed the need to integrate indigenous knowledge with modern science and technology to build a developed India.
