Vape Crackdown in Britain: Disposable E-Cigarettes to be Outlawed

The UK government has announced a ban on disposable vapes in an effort to combat rising nicotine addiction among teenagers. The law, set to take effect from July 2025, also includes stricter packaging regulations and flavor restrictions.

Health Secretary Victoria Atkins stated the ban aims to “protect youth health while still allowing adult smokers access to quit-aid tools.” Several studies showed a sharp increase in vape use among teens aged 13–17 over the last two years.

Health authorities in Nepal, Bhutan, and Bangladesh — where e-cigarette use is also rising — are watching closely and considering similar regulatory measures.
