Minister of Education and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, led the inauguration of the National Skill Training Institute for Women (NSTI) campuses in Agartala and Vadodara, signaling a significant investment in women’s empowerment and skill development.
With an investment of 17 crores, the NSTI campus in Agartala spans 4.12 acres, affirming the government’s commitment to providing accessible skill training opportunities for women. Courses in Cosmetology, Dress Making, and Secretarial Practice (English) are offered, with plans to introduce new trades such as Catering and Hospitality, Computer Software Application, and Office Management to meet evolving industry demands.
The inauguration ceremony, graced by esteemed dignitaries including Smt. Pratima Bhoumik, Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, and Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha, Chief Minister of Tripura, highlighted the government’s focus on nurturing talent and promoting gender equality. In his address, Minister Dharmendra Pradhan stated, “These initiatives stand as symbols of women’s empowerment in crucial regions of eastern and western India. They illuminate the path for women, equipping them with skills and attitudes necessary for their advancement.”
