Tripura’s border area faces increased surveillance efforts

The Border Security Forces (BSF) in Tripura have detained 65 Bangladeshi nationals this month, including three from Sepahijala district on Monday. Tripura shares an 856 km international border with Bangladesh, with Sepahijala covering a significant portion of the border.

According to a BSF press release, the latest incident occurred on September 16 when BSF troops from BOP Harihardola in Sepahijala apprehended three Bangladeshi nationals attempting to cross the border into India. The detainees, identified as family members from Cumilla district, Bangladesh, were caught while trying to breach the border fence.

The BSF has intensified its surveillance along the border to prevent further infiltration.
