To support those affected by the recent devastating floods, Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha has declared a one-time financial aid of Rs 4,000 for construction workers who have been unable to earn due to the natural disaster. The announcement, made via Facebook, outlines that this aid is intended to alleviate the financial burden endured by workers whose livelihoods have been disrupted since the floods began on August 19. The severe flooding has impacted Tripura for approximately eight days, creating substantial economic hardships.
Dr. Saha emphasized the plight of the construction workers, acknowledging their struggle amid the widespread devastation. To address their immediate needs, the state government has allocated a total of Rs 17,19,24,000, which will be distributed among 42,981 registered construction workers throughout Tripura.
The distribution of the aid will be as follows by district: West Tripura (13,148 workers), Sepahijala (5,899), Gomati (5,698), South Tripura (4,133), Khowai (4,529), Dhalai (3,592), Unakoti (3,861), and North Tripura (2,121).
