Tripura Police arrest three, seize Yaba tablets worth ₹5.5 crore

In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, Tripura police arrested a drug kingpin from Assam and two others, seizing Yaba tablets worth ₹5.5 crore from a hotel in Agartala.

According to West District Superintendent of Police Kiran Kumar, the operation was carried out on March 21 evening following intelligence inputs. A special team raided Hotel Woodland Park, where a narcotics transaction was taking place.

“We conducted a raid and arrested Sahidul Hossen Taluka from Silchar, Assam, along with Nayan Mani Namasudra and Biswajit Biswas from Tripura. A total of 1,10,000 Yaba tablets packed in 11 packets were seized,” Kumar stated.

Authorities believe the consignment was part of a larger drug network operating across the Northeast. The accused are being interrogated, and further investigations are underway to identify other links in the trafficking chain.
