The Tripura Government has kicked off a series of events from August 11 to 14 as part of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, aimed at promoting national pride and patriotism. The initiative, which includes a Tiranga Yatra, a Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, and the observance of Vibhajan Vibhishika Smriti Diwas, is set to engage residents across the state. West Tripura District Magistrate Vishal Kumar emphasized the importance of widespread participation, stating, “We have organized a Tiranga Yatra led by Ministers and MLAs, which has already commenced. This will be followed by the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan from August 12 to 14, with active involvement from local communities.”
On August 14, the state will also observe Vibhajan Vibhishika Smriti Diwas, reflecting on the historical significance of the partition. The final day, August 15, will see the hoisting of the national flag at homes, offices, and shops, with participants encouraged to share their flag-hoisting photos on social media. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is spearheading the campaign nationwide, aligning with Prime Minister Modi’s call during his 112th ‘Mann Ki Baat’ address on July 28. Modi urged citizens to display the national flag prominently and engage in the celebration of Independence Day through this initiative.
The ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign is a part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, marking 75 years of Indian independence. The campaign aims to foster a sense of patriotism and raise awareness about the significance of the national flag, continuing the spirit of the 2021 launch of the initiative to bring the Tiranga into every household.
