The government of Tripura signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with North East Space Application Center (NESAC), Shillong for 21 projects including disaster management and resource mapping.
NESAC Director, SP Agarwal and Tripura Science, Technology and Environment Secretary Pradeep Kumar Chakraborty signed the MoU on Monday.
Of the 21 projects, the Center has already approved 20 projects for capacity building as part of technology dissemination and transfer as well as the development of resource mapping, Chakraborty said.
The 20 approved projects include resource mapping in agriculture, horticulture, forestry, land revenue and disaster management.
Indian Space Resources Organization (ISRO) and North Eastern Council (NEC) will fund the implementation of all 21 projects over the next three years. 4.30 crore has been sanctioned for disaster management as resource mapping.
