Tripura CM holds high-level meet on illegal infiltration

Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha chaired a high-level administrative meeting on Friday to address rising concerns about illegal infiltration, especially of Rohingya migrants. The meeting, held at the state secretariat, was attended by Chief Secretary J.K. Sinha, Director General of Police Anurag, Home Secretary Abhishek Singh, the Inspector General of BSF, and senior officers from central security and intelligence agencies. The agenda centred on reviewing the current security mechanism and enhancing surveillance at sensitive border points.

According to sources in the Chief Minister’s Office, officials noted that infiltration cases have dropped over the past three months, based on intelligence reports and BSF inputs. However, the government is taking no chances and stressed on strong coordination among security agencies for quick response and stricter vigilance.

The Chief Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to maintaining peace and ensuring the state’s borders remain secure. Regular meetings and joint operations between the BSF, state police, and intelligence units were discussed as key to tackling infiltration threats effectively.
