Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s impactful vision for the Northeast, highlighting the significant progress made in restoring peace and advancing development in the region. Speaking at a blood donation camp organized by the Maharani Tulsibati Welfare Trust at the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Youth Hostel on Wednesday, Dr. Saha commended Modi’s efforts, noting that the region has seen a marked decline in terrorist activities. The camp, held in honor of Modi’s 74th birthday, was described by Dr. Saha as a testament to the PM’s commitment to public welfare.
“Voluntary blood donation transcends caste and is the highest gift of humanity,” Dr. Saha said. He acknowledged the numerous strides the country has made under Modi’s leadership, citing the abolition of triple talaq as a landmark achievement benefiting Muslim women. Dr. Saha also highlighted the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, which has facilitated affordable housing in both urban and rural areas of Tripura. He praised the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme for providing financial aid to farmers and the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana for offering up to Rs 5 lakh in medical treatment per family member.
The Chief Minister further noted the recognition of the Janajati community, including the Padma Shri awards received by several personalities and the appointment of former Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma as the Governor of Telangana. He emphasized the state government’s ongoing efforts to uplift tribal areas.
