Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has reinforced its commitment to skills development in India through several educational programs, highlighted by the expansion of its Toyota Technical Training Institute (TTTI). The institute, which provides free technical education to economically underprivileged youth, has doubled its capacity to 1,200 students, including facilities for 600 female students.
TKM’s Executive VP G. Shankara emphasized the company’s alignment with the Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme announced in the Union Budget 2024-25, noting their focus on bridging the gap between education and industry needs.
The company has trained over 110,000 youth through various initiatives, including partnerships with 49 Industrial Training Institutes across Karnataka and plans to expand its Government Tool Room & Training Centre collaboration to 36 institutes by 2026.
