Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has further solidified its commitment to sustainability on Earth Day, aligning its initiatives with the global theme, “Our Power, Our Planet.” The company’s Executive Vice President & Director – Manufacturing, Mr. B. Padmanabha, highlighted TKM’s environmental initiatives, which focus on carbon neutrality and clean mobility solutions. TKM’s approach includes advancing electrified vehicle technologies (xEVs) and renewable energy adoption, alongside eco-friendly manufacturing operations.
TKM’s operations boast impressive sustainability metrics, with 100% renewable grid electricity, more than 96% waste recycling, and 89.3% water conservation through rainwater harvesting and recycling. The company’s Green Wave Project, which has led to the planting of over 328,000 trees, and the Ecozone educational space, engaging over 40,000 students, emphasize its commitment to biodiversity restoration and environmental education.
The demand for energy-efficient, low-emission vehicles is on the rise, and Toyota’s sustainability efforts are resonating with the local market. With consumers seeking cleaner mobility solutions, TKM is poised to capture a larger share of the growing green vehicle segment in the region.
