Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has created the “Scholarship Program for Technical Education And Recognition” (STAR) to assist students who have finished the 10th grade but are unable to continue their education in technical colleges. The initiative intends to promote the untapped potential of the North, East, and North-East regions, supporting children from low-income families in 11 states.
TKM’s STAR project seeks to improve the abilities of outstanding persons in new technologies for the developing automotive sector. Scholarships of up to Rs 51,000 per year will be awarded to qualifying students from low-income families to cover hostel costs, educational expenses, and family assistance. Scholarships are available at specific institutes, with a 30% reserve for female students.
A written test and an interview are part of the selection procedure. After completing the TTEP curriculum, STAR program students do 6- to 12-month internships at Toyota dealerships. The event was attended by Chief Guest Shri Jayanta Mallabaruah, Assam Minister of Public Health Engineering, and Toyota Kirloskar Motor CEO Vikram Gulati. Mr.Vikram Gulati, Country Head, and Executive Vice President, of TKM, said, “Through the STAR program under the T-TEP initiative, we aim to empower deserving students.”
