Eyes play a vital role in our day to day lives and are perhaps the most precious gift we have.  With ageing, the lens of the eyes thickens and become cloudier, visibility in long distant reduces.  Cataract is one of the leading cases of defective vision in the elderly population. It is widely prevalent with both the sexes, both in rural and urban areas. Treatment of cataract is mainly surgical. Recent advances in cataract surgery have made it a much more acceptable procedure for most patients.
