Topcem Cement and Guwahati Scooter and Motorcycle Garage Owners Association (GSMGOA) have been advocating the cause for a Clean Guwahati through their initiative – BISWAKARMA IDOL BISWARJAN AVIJAN every year and have achieved considerable success in generating awareness which has led to greater involvement and more increased participation from different establishments and organizations over the years. Both Topcem Cement and Guwahati Scooter and Motorcycle Garage Owners Association (GSMGOA) have been jointly doing it since 2014.
Topcem Cement and Guwahati Scooter and Motorcycle Garage Owners Association will initiate the activity on 20 September,2023, at 10 am, from Ulubari, Guwahati, near Old ASTC Garage Compound. The activity will continue till 5 pm in the evening. On the occasion, Dr. Anil Kapur, President (Sales & Marketing), Meghalaya Cements Ltd, announcing this year’s activity said “It is our responsibility to keep the city clean and we are thankful to Guwahati Scooter and Motorcycle Garage Owners’ Association in collaborating with us for this mission. These idols will be collected and disposed in areas designated by the Guwahati Municipal Corporation “.
Topcem Cement and Guwahati Scooter and Motorcycle Garage Owners’ Association requests all concerned to extend support to this campaign. Last year more than 3000 idols of various sizes were collected from various locations in the Guwahati metropolitan. Biswakarma Puja is one of the famous festivals in India that is dedicated to Lord Biswakarma,the Hindu God and a Divine architect who created this universe. The festival is most importantly celebrated in the industrial topography, techno- commercial establishments and among the factories especially on the shop-floor or manufacturing office.
