TKM and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Department launch their 68th T-TEP and STAR initiative under T-TEP

In a major push towards skilling youth in the North-East, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM), in collaboration with Camdir Toyota and the Arunachal Pradesh government, inaugurated the 68th Toyota Technical Education Program (T-TEP) and STAR Scholarship initiative at Government ITI, Roing on Thursday. The program was launched by Minister for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Shri Nyato Dukam, who urged students to maximise the opportunity. “This program brings global standards of training and industry exposure to students from remote corners of Arunachal,” he said.

T-TEP Roing aims to equip final-year ITI students, particularly in MMV and Diesel Mechanic trades, with hands-on automotive skills through classroom and on-the-job training. STAR scholarships of up to ₹51,000 will support economically disadvantaged students. Camdir Toyota’s active role in infrastructure and funding support reflects a strong community commitment. Commissioner Saugat Biswas noted plans to expand T-TEP across ITIs and tie-ups with companies like Tata and L&T.

Itanagar welcomed the initiative as a potential game-changer. “There is increasing demand for skilled automotive workers, and this program can help bridge the gap,” said an Itanagar auto dealer. “It will definitely improve local employability.” The first Roing batch includes 20 students and three STAR scholars.
