Tripura is the first state in the nation to use cooktops to create an energy-efficient cooking system. Tripura is the first state to begin implementing this cooking system, despite it being introduced nationally last year, according to Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath’s remarks on Sunday.
As part of the effort, Nath gave cooktops to the representatives of 100 primary schools and Anganwadi centers. He declared that cooktops will be gradually distributed to all 10,223 Anganwadi centers throughout the state, starting with 2,000. 2000 induction cooktops were distributed to Anganwadi centers as part of the National Efficient Cooking Programme, which was started in Tripura with the goals of lowering the environmental effect of cooking, enhancing health, and promoting the use of contemporary electric cooking appliances.
Induction-based cookstoves, which promise both energy savings and economical cooking solutions, were introduced by the NECP and offer a 25–30% cost advantage over conventional cooking methods. However, when speaking about the PM-Surya Ghar plan, the minister emphasized the value of solar rooftop capacity and giving residential homes the ability to produce their own electricity.
