A notice has been issued by the RBI regarding the exchange of Rs 2,000 notes, stating that the facility of exchanging Rs 2,000 notes will remain normal. Also, proper management of waiting areas and drinking water should also be done keeping in mind the bank summer as directed by RBI to the banks. Banks have also been asked by the central bank to collect daily data on note exchange in 2000.
Don’t rush to exchange 2000 note
RBI Governor further said that there is no rush to change the notes. The Central Bank has given 4 months time to change it. People have to exchange notes in this time frame. If it is left without a time limit it will become an endless process.
Further said that we expect that most of the withdrawn 2000 notes will reach the banks by September 30. The withdrawal of the 2000 note will have very little impact, as it is 10.8 percent of the total currency circulation.
2000 notes will be exchanged tomorrow
The withdrawal of Rs 2,000 notes was announced by the RBI on 19 May. One can exchange a maximum of Rs 20,000 or 10 notes at a time. There will be no need to fill out any slip/form or show ID for the exchange of notes.
