The deputy director of school education (DDSE) for the capital region and the midday meal (MDM) program nodal officer were called by the Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (APSCPCR) on Tuesday to discuss important matters pertaining to the state capital’s schools. The Commission requested information on MDM provisions, the formation of Prahari Clubs in educational institutions, and the status of registered and unregistered schools in ICR.
The Commission voiced worry over the growth of uncontrolled schools that lack proper facilities and policies, endangering the safety of students as well as the quality of education. It emphasized the significance of careful school registration to stay away from places close to wineries, dangerous neighborhoods, and other already-existing schools. 35 schools under ICR jurisdiction received show-cause notices and fines of Rs 1 lakh for operating without the required registration, according to the DDSE. The department committed to keeping an eye on their situation going ahead.
