In view of the heavy rains in Telangana, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao announced a holiday tour for all academic institutions for three days from the eleventh of to the thirteenth of July. A high-level review meeting has begun at Pragati Bhavan led by CM KCR on the fame of rains, and arrangements. So far taken and action will be taken, Chief Minister’s office tweeted on Sunday, July 10 afternoon. Several ministers, MLAs, Chief Secretary and other high-level officials were present at the meeting.
Due to incessant rains in the state, there were reports of waterlogging in many low-lying areas and inundation of roads in some parts of individual districts, while streams and rivers burst their banks at countless places. In its climate warning, India Meteorological Department’s Met Center (IMD) said heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places over Adilabad, Komaram Bhim, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Rajanna Sirisila districts from 10 am on Sunday. Due to heavy rainfall in Telangana for the last three days, State Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar on Sunday directed District Collectors to work in close coordination with all line departments and take all preventive measures to avoid any untoward incident. As directed by CM KCR, the Chief Secretary held a video conference with the Collectors of all the districts today and reviewed the situation created due to heavy rains in the state, a reliable release said.
