Former Trinamool Congress chief Baisakhi Banerjee has leveled fresh allegations against sacked Bengal minister Partha Chatterjee, who is being investigated by the Enforcement Directorate over the trainer recruitment scam.
Banerjee, who served as general secretary of the West Bengal College and University Professors’ Association (WBCUPA), claimed that candidates who were ineligible during Partha Chatterjee’s tenure as education minister were given direct entry to educational institutions.
In an interview with news enterprise ANI, she cited that every instructional post in the state-run universities was “for sale” and if the small print on university and college recruitment was published, it should be a par. A scam that is bigger than the West Bengal SSC scam.
Banerjee alleged, “There was once a syndicate working interior the WBCUPA which brought a charge tag to the university college sub-post the place each and every post was on sale. Those who may want to not teach even in faculty entered the university without delay with Partha Chatterjee’s push,” .
The then education minister gave jobs to “incompetent thieves”, she claimed. The former TMC leader had earlier reiterated that not only was he now aware that his subordinates had made simple kickbacks, but he had also indulged in corruption.
“He did not reflect every person’s consideration on himself, not even Mamata Banerjee. He abused his position in countless instances and completely controlled the training department,”she added.
