Tata Motors has introduced the Turbotronn 2.0 engine, a technologically advanced engine designed to make trucking more efficient and reliable. This indigenously developed engine is available in 180-204 PS power nodes and powers trucks in the 19-42 tonne segment. The engine is designed to address specific needs and is perfect for various applications such as intercity and long haul, e-commerce, and logistics. It has set nine national and regional records on debut and is fully compliant with the BS6 Phase 2 emission norms.
The engine is platform-agnostic and comes with a warranty of 6 years/6 lakh km. The 5-liter turbocharged diesel engine is offered in multiple states of tune and is engineered to offer a flatter torque curve in the 700-850Nm range for better drivability.
With longer oil drains and service intervals of 1 lakh km, the engine ensures more vehicle uptime and generates higher revenues. Tata Motors President and Chief Technology Officer, Mr. Rajendra Petkar, said that the Turbotronn 2.0 is one of their most advanced internal combustion engines, enabling trucks to cover longer distances in a shorter time.
