Tata Passenger Electric Mobility (TPEM), India’s leading EV manufacturer, has introduced its first Pure EV architecture, acti.ev, which stands for Advanced Connected Tech-Intelligent Electric Vehicle. It will underpin future products from the TPEM portfolio. The first product to be launched on this Pure Electric Architecture is Punch.ev, which will spawn a variety of products with multiple body styles and sizes.
The acti.ev architecture consists of four layers: powertrain, chassis, electrical architecture, and cloud architecture. The powertrain layer features an optimised battery pack design, offering multiple range options and modularity in choosing the right drivetrain option. The chassis layer houses multiple body styles and maximizes cabin space with a flat floor and frunk.
The electrical architecture layer is future-ready scalable, with higher computing powers and ADAS level 2 capabilities. The cloud architecture layer offers an enhanced user experience with Arcade.ev, an in-car app suite, and cutting-edge solutions for superior connectivity and over-the-air software updates. Chief Products Officer, Anand Kulkarni, said that the architecture is designed to enable class-leading efficiencies, maximize space, battery capacity, and enhance the overall driving experience.
