Tata Motors to supply and operate Ultra EV Electric Buses in Srinagar Smart City

Tata Motors, India’s largest commercial vehicle manufacturer, announced that it has supplied the first batch of state-of-the art Ultra EV air-conditioned electric buses to Srinagar Smart City Limited, via TML Smart City Mobility Solutions (J&K) Pvt Ltd, a Tata Motors Group company. The Housing and Urban Development Department of the Government of Jammu & Kashmir is supplying, maintaining, and operating 100 electric buses in Srinagar and Jammu for 12 years.

The initiative aims to establish an environmentally and financially sustainable public transport network for Srinagar. The zero-emission buses are indigenously built, equipped with advanced battery systems, and designed for safe, comfortable, and convenient commutes.

The fleet of e-buses was officially inaugurated by various officials from J&K, including Shri Manoj Sinha, Hon’ble Lieutenant General and Shri Prashant Goyal, Principal Secretary, J&K. Shri Manoj Sinha, Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor, J&K congratulated the citizens of Srinagar on the occasion.  Sharing his thoughts at the flag-off event, Shri Prashant Goyal, Principal Secretary, Housing & Urban Development Department, J&K said, “Tata Motors has partnered with Srinagar Smart City Ltd for 12 years, which will help in improving the last-mile passenger transport system in Srinagar.”
