Tata Motors joined hands with JNVs to teach automotive skills

Tata Motors, India’s leading automobile company, has joined hands with Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya to provide knowledge, hands-on automotive skills and industrial exposure to the students of secondary and senior secondary students of JNV as a part of the vocational courses envisioned in the ‘National Education Policy 2020’. Launched in 2022, the programme is on offer at 25 JNVs, has trained 2500 students in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. It is expected to cover 5000 students this year.

Tata Motors is offering Automotive Courses (404 & 804) for vocational skilling in JNVs, designed according to CBSE guidelines and input from the Tata Motors team. These courses are offered to students in 9th-12th grade, providing hands-on automotive skills and industry exposure within the school premises.

Mr.Vinod Kulkarni, CSR Head at Tata Motors said, “We are happy to enable cultivation of an engaged and skilled workforce and creating a future-ready workforce in partnership with JNVs.”Tata Motors launched an ‘Automotive Skill Lab’ at 25 JNV schools, offering students a fully funded Mechatronics Diploma, on-the-job experience, and opportunities for B. Tech in engineering or automotive industry.
