Tata AIA Life Insurance has launched the Shubh Flexi Pension Plan, a new retirement-focused solution aimed at offering guaranteed lifelong income while allowing policyholders to benefit from market-linked growth. The plan seeks to address growing concerns around rising life expectancy, healthcare costs and the risk of outliving retirement savings.
The insurer said retirement planning in India is evolving as individuals increasingly seek financial products that combine stability with wealth growth. The Shubh Flexi Pension Plan provides annuity payouts for life and offers a variable annuity option linked to the performance of the NIFTY 50 index. Customers can choose different combinations of guaranteed income and equity exposure, ranging from 60% guaranteed debt with 40% equity exposure to 90% guaranteed debt with 10% equity participation. Kamal Bhardwaj, Executive Vice President and Chief Bancassurance Officer, Tata AIA Life, said, “Retirement planning in India is evolving. With longer life expectancies, rising healthcare costs and fluctuating interest rates, people want solutions that not only provide stability but also grow with them. The Shubh Flexi Pension Plan is our answer — giving customers both guaranteed income and the opportunity to grow their savings.”
The plan also offers flexible premium payment options including lump sum payments or instalments spread over two to twelve years. Customers can begin building their retirement corpus from the age of 35 and choose between immediate or deferred annuity options, with deferment allowed for up to 20 years. In Aizawl, demand for structured retirement products is steadily increasing as more working professionals and government employees look for reliable income after retirement. Insurance-based pension plans with a mix of guaranteed returns and market-linked growth are gaining attention in the city, especially among individuals seeking long-term financial security while protecting their families through features such as return-of-purchase-price benefits for nominees.
