Ex-President Ram Nath Kovind moves out of Rashtrapati Bhavan, arrives at new residence

Ram Nath Kovind, the now-former President of India, vacated Rashtrapati Bhavan on Monday, after his successor in the best office, Droupadi Murmu, was once sworn-in as the country’s fifteenth President. However, before he left, Kovind received a final tri-service guard of honor. Kovind and his wife Savita will now reside in the national capital on 12, Janpath. Congress president Sonia Gandhi, who lives 10, across the street, will be a neighbor of the former first couple.

On International Women's Day, President Ram Nath Kovind conferred the Nari Shakti Puraskars on 29 outstanding women for 2020 and 2021. Twenty-eight awards were given to the women in recognition of their exceptional work towards women empowerment, vulnerable and marginalised. The Nari Shakti Puraskar is a Women and Child Development Ministry initiative to acknowledge exceptional contributions made by individuals and institutions, and to celebrate women as game-changers and as a positive change in a society.
