The helipad near Leh’s abode of the Tibetan spiritual and temporal leader Dalai Lama is being repaired and CCTV cameras being installed in the area as he is scheduled to visit Ladakh later this year. Lt. Governor of Ladakh UT, RK Mathur personally visited Photang Geyphel-ling which is Dalai Lama’s abode to take stock of the arrangements. He also visited the teaching ground. LG Mathur visited Photang Geyphel-ling, which is the summer residence of The Dalai Lama in Leh, and reviewed the arrangements. He later visited the spot at Jivetsal used for delivering sermons. Deeply saddened by conflict in Ukraine: Dalai Lama

Globetrotting Buddhist spiritual leader the Dalai Lama said he has been deeply saddened by the conflict in Ukraine. “Our world has become so interdependent that violent conflict between two countries inevitably impacts the rest of the world." He believed problems and disagreements are best resolved through dialogue. “Genuine peace comes about through mutual understanding and respect for each other’s wellbeing. “We must not lose hope. The 20th century was a century of war and bloodshed. The 21st century must be a century of dialogue.” The elderly monk prayed that peace is swiftly restored in Ukraine.
