Assam floods: Man rushes through neck-deep water to greet Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma with ‘gamusa’

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma visited the flood-hit Barak Valley where a resident braved the floodwaters and greeted him with a 'Gamusa'. The Chief Minister additionally visited the flood-affected areas and heard the grievances of the people in Silchar. The flood situation in Assam's Morigaon district is gradually improving as the flood water has started receding through the Assam State Disaster Management Authority. Union Home Minister Amit Shah discussed the overall flood situation in Assam with Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma over the phone and assured all possible help from the Centre.
