Deputy Commissioner P N Thungon chaired the Siang district's District Road Safety Committee (DRSC) meeting on Tuesday. The purpose of the meeting was to evaluate the state of current road safety initiatives and develop new strategies for lowering traffic accidents in the district. According to Section 215 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, the meeting was attended by representatives from the public works department, transportation department, police, health, education, and urban development, among other important stakeholders. A massive forest fire that had spread over several acres in the Nadipar forest near Dirang town, which is situated in the West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh, was contained.
