Swiggy, the leading food delivery platform, has launched its pioneering “She The Change” initiative, dedicated to spotlighting and empowering women entrepreneurs in India’s burgeoning food and beverage industry. At the initiative’s launch event, held recently, Taneeshree Dutta, the proud owner of Atelier Patisserie in Dibrugarh, Assam, received esteemed recognition from Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, the Hon’ble Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs.
With a focus on celebrating the remarkable contributions of women entrepreneurs like Dutta, Swiggy’s initiative aims to showcase the transformative potential of women-led ventures. Currently, Swiggy hosts over 50,000 women-run restaurants on its platform, reflecting the growing presence and impact of women in the F&B sector.
Beyond economic growth, these ventures are driving significant employment opportunities, with each restaurant estimated to create an average of six direct jobs. Swiggy’s commitment to fostering inclusivity in the workforce aligns with the national agenda of ‘Nari Shakti,’ championed by the Honourable Prime Minister.The launch event, attended by prominent figures from economics and academia, alongside Swiggy’s top leadership including Sriharsha Majety, Group CEO, and Rohit Kapoor, CEO of Food Marketplace highlighted the inspiring journeys of women entrepreneurs who are reshaping India’s business landscape.
