Star Health and Allied Insurance, India’s leading standalone health insurer, has settled claims amounting to over Rs.14 crore in Guwahati over the last 15 months. The company paid over Rs.13 crore in claim settlements to network hospitals and around Rs.1 crore to non-network hospitals in the region. Between April 2022 and June 2023, Star Health paid over Rs.12 crore in cashless claim settlement and over Rs.2 crore in reimbursement claim settlements in Guwahati. The company settled all cashless claims within 2 hours.
The company has also endeavored to make payments of reimbursement claims within 7 days of claim submission to ensure customers do not face hassles in settlement even through the reimbursement route.
During the 15 months from April 2022 to June 2023, most claims in Guwahati were for surgical treatments, amounting to over Rs.8 crore in claims pay-out. Medical treatments amounted to Rs.6 crore in claims settlements. Over Rs.6 crore was paid towards claims made by women and Rs.8 crore was paid towards claims made by men in Guwahati.Mr. Sanath Kumar K, Chief Claims Officer, Star Health and Allied Insurance Co.
