Crackdown on child marriage, special operation began in Assam; over 800 accused were being arrested from parts of the districts on Tuesday.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma taking to social media platform X wrote, “In a massive crackdown against child marriage, Assam Police has arrested over 800 accused persons in a special operation which began in the early hours of dawn.”
Earlier, Assam CM warned about arresting 3,000 people involved in child marriage from parts of the state, Assam.
