Some areas of Kohima will experience a power outage, according to the electricity agency

The electrical agency has announced that from November 9–11, 2024, parts of Kohima would be without power. The shutdown was necessary to relocate the 33 kV Kohima Ring Main Transmission Tower Line so that the State Emergency Operation Center (SEOC) under the NSDMA could be built in the New Secretariat Complex area of Kohima, according to a press release from executive engineer (E) Shiludi Longkumer of the electrical division of Kohima.

The department advised that on November 9 from 1pm to 4pm, November 10 from 7am to 4pm, and November 11 from 6am to 9am, areas under the 11kV New Secretariat & 11kv Thizama feeders, including Meriema, Thizama, New Secretariat Complex area, New Assembly Complex, and Phezoucha colony, will be impacted. As a result, the agency has asked everyone in the impacted areas to plan appropriately and take the required safety measures. According to the department, due to unforeseen circumstances, the planned power cutoff of 11KV feeders on October 31 and November 3 could not be carried out.
