Skill India trained 910 carpenters to build parliament building

Skill India celebrated the success of 910 skilled carpenters who played a crucial role in the construction of the new parliament building inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on May 28th, 2023. These knowledgeable people underwent transformative training via the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) program under the flagship Scheme of Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY), whose competence has been acknowledged and strengthened by the Skill India Mission.

The Furniture and Fitting Skill Council (FFSC) of MSDE, the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) jurisdiction, and the NARSI Group conducted comprehensive training for the carpenter community, fostering a skilled workforce capable of undertaking modern and futuristic infrastructure projects. This success story exemplifies the remarkable impact of RPL training and serves as an inspiration for future endeavors.

This training has uplifted their livelihood, enabling them to contribute towards nation-building. Dr. Krishna Kumar Dwivedi, Joint Secretary of MSDE said, “This achievement is not only about creating an avant-garde design for our new parliament but has also enabled many individuals who can proudly say that they have become a part of the nation’s progress and its new identity.”
