Shri Dharmendra Pradhan inaugurated the Skill India Centre (SIC) in Angul, aiming to equip the Yuva Peedhi with employability and new-age skills, thereby opening up opportunities for employment in domestic and global markets.
The center has the potential to become a futuristic hub, providing young people with high-demand skills and fostering entrepreneurship and skill development. It will equip them with modern technologies, offer hands-on experiences, and facilitate career advancement that aligns with the future demands of work and skill development. Shri Pradhan said that “Our overarching vision is to extend our reach to remote communities, and the revitalization of public education institutions will particularly benefit underprivileged sections of society, empowering them to improve their livelihoods and access better employment opportunities”. He further added, “Around1000 children will annually benefit from skill enhancement programs offered at the centre, thereby contributing to personal growth as well as the nation’s economic development”.
The center aligns with the National Education Policy’s 2020 goals of creating a flexible, dynamic education system for real-world challenges. It will nurture Odish’s youth’s potential by offering diverse job training, fostering innovation, and creating a New India that aligns with their aspirations and goals, thereby fostering a more dynamic and adaptable education system.
