Shri Dharmendra Pradhan has signed MoUs with IBM to foster digital skilling

Union Minister of Education and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Shri Dharmendra Pradhan today presided over the signing of 8 MoUs between agencies of Ministries of Education and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and IBM. The Memorandum of Understanding will offer curated courses to India’s youth, focusing on future-ready skills in AI, cybersecurity, cloud computing, and professional development, across school, higher education, and vocational sectors.

Speaking at the event, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan said that India, with its vast and youthful population, stands at the cusp of tremendous potential. To harness this demographic dividend, it is crucial to equip the youth with the necessary skills to excel in today’s modern workforce. This collaboration marks a significant stride toward our vision of a ‘Skilled India’ and in scaling up digital skills training and skill building in emerging technologies using the IBM SkillsBuild platform.

The collaboration spans across three core education levels: School Education, where IBM will provide access to digital content for high school students, teachers, and trainers on cutting-edge skills. In higher education, IBM will help onboard affiliated students and faculty to IBM SkillsBuild. In vocational skills, to onboard job seekers and school dropouts and enable them to gain technical and professional skills.
