Shikshagraha, a people’s movement focused on improving one million public schools in India by 2030, has announced a partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to drive its tech-based improvement initiatives. Using AWS’s cloud computing services, Shikshagraha aims to enhance the quality of public education by empowering educators and stakeholders across 100 districts, impacting 40 million children.
The movement, which is already active in states like Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Karnataka, will leverage AWS’s scalable and cost-efficient technology to host a repository of best practices, enhance teacher effectiveness, and enable real-time solutions using tools like AI and machine learning.
In Itanagar, local educators expect AWS’s digital infrastructure to facilitate customized improvements for schools, enabling better resource allocation and fostering collaboration between local authorities and civil society organizations. This technological intervention is expected to boost the performance of public schools and ensure continuous improvement in the region.Vijayashree Urs, CTO of ShikshaLokam, stated, “AWS’s cloud services provide the backbone for Shikshagraha to achieve its large-scale education goals.” Pankaj Gupta, Leader of AWS India Public Sector, added, “We are proud to support Shikshagraha in transforming India’s public education system.”
