Shah launches police portal for hassle-free services, Assam

On Thursday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated an interactive web portal, named Assam Police Seva Setu for hassle-free services in state, Assam.

As per reports, the online service with 26 features is for filling FIR, complaints, including registration of senior citizens living alone for their safety from anywhere possible.

 The portal is launched to bridge the gap between Police and public. Now, people can easily file their necessities from anywhere sitting in home or elsewhere.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “Over 11,000 cases were reported per month, which has reduced to over 6,000 cases per month in the last two years. The charge sheet rate has improved from 39% in 2021 to 58.5% now, while the conviction rate improved from 5.4% to 14% in the last two years.”
