Seven booked after violent attacks on TSECL staff in Tripura

At least seven people have been booked after violent attacks on Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited (TSECL) staff in two separate incidents in Dhalai district on Tuesday, leaving six employees injured and official property damaged. According to a TSECL statement, the assaults occurred while teams were carrying out routine checks, including consumer verification and anti-theft drives, as part of preparations for the nor’wester season.

In Ghainama Chakma Para under Chailengta Police Station, three individuals — Darpan Chakma, Sena Kumar Chakma, and Bishwa Chakma — allegedly attacked a TSECL team from Manu Sub-Division. Four employees were injured, and their official vehicle was vandalized.

In another attack at the 33/11 KV sub-station in Kamalpur, four men led by Kamal Sinha allegedly stormed the control room and assaulted two on-duty workers, Amar Malakar and Amit Das. The motive behind the assault remains unclear. FIRs have been lodged in both cases, though no arrests had been made till late Tuesday.
