The Nifty index is trading with a deficit of about 20 points, trading close to 24,800, indicating volatility in the day’s trade. The Sensex is down around 60 points. The 30-stock index is trading below the 81,000 mark.
The Nifty Bank index is also trading with some gains of about 100 points, remaining above the 55,000 mark. When we look at the broader markets, the Midcap and Smallcap indices are trading in a better space, outperforming the frontline indices. The Nifty Midcap index is up about 200 points. The Nifty Smallcap index is also up, about half a percent.
