Seijosa’s “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” rally raises awareness

Under the Mission Shakti program, the Pakke Kessang District’s Women and Child Development (WCD) Department hosted a Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) awareness rally in Seijosa. The purpose of the event was to strengthen legal measures against rights breaches while promoting women’s and children’s protection, security, and empowerment. The WCD Department’s One Stop Center (OSC) and District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) teams organized the demonstration as a component of a comprehensive awareness campaign.

The Arunachal Pradesh Rescue & Rehabilitation Policy for Children in Street Situation (APRRoCiSS) 2022 and two umbrella programs that prioritize the safety and well-being of women and children, Mission Shakti and Mission Vatsalya, are in line with this strategy. The teams inspected suspected child labor hotspots, held interactive meetings with stakeholders, and made public statements at strategic sites as part of the awareness campaign. A two-day event in Seijosa marked the campaign’s conclusion and emphasized the significance of defending women’s and children’s rights.

In front of local Panchayati Raj Institution (PRI) leaders, Gaon Burahs, members of the District Task Force (DTF) on BBBP and RRoCiSS, and other important stakeholders, Bani Lego, Deputy Commissioner of Pakke Kessang, officially kicked off the event at the Golden Jubilee Ground. By means of these programs, the WCD Department and the Pakke Kessang District administration uphold their dedication to social justice and gender equality while ensuring a more secure and welcoming atmosphere for women and children.
