Seemanta Chetana Mancha Purbottar, which is a registered socio- cultural and non-political organisation working for the noble cause of promoting safety, security and overall development of the international border areas of North Eastern region of our Motherland Bharat, is organising 1st Seemata Kreeda Mahotsav 22 in Sarusajai Stadium, Guwahati in association with Ministry of Sports and youth welfare, Government of Assam. The event is co-sponsored by Hans Foundation, New Delhi and Oil India.
This is the first of its kind sport event where in players within 15km from international border/zero line of Assam will participate. It is expected that this endeavour shall promote unity and integrity along with resilience, leadership, accountability, respect and competitiveness amongst the people from the international border areas of North eastern Region of the country.
District level qualifying rounds were held between 4th March to 11th March 2022 in the 9 international border districts of Assam which are Dhuburi, South Salmara Mankachar, Chirang , Udalguri, Tamulpur, Baksa,Kokrajhar, Cahcar and Karimganj. Final compition will be held on Sarusajai Stadium, Guwahati from 4th of. April 2022 to 6th of April 2022.
The game is Scheduled to be inaugurated by Hon’ble Minister of Assam Sri Himanta Biswa Sharma at 4.30 PM on 4th April 2022 in presence of Hon’ble minister of sports and youth welfare Sri Bimal Bora and Hon’ble CEM of Bodoland Territorial Council Sri Pramod Boro.
Apart from event wise medals the best performing district will be given a cash reward of Rs 1lakh. The closing ceremony will be held on 6th April 2022 at 5 PM in the presence of Seema Jagaran Mancha national convenor Sri A Gopalakrishnan ji and Hon’ble Minister of Transport, Assam Sri Chandra Mohan Patowary.
